Jordan has been volunteering on the Sova ACE project for 6 months. He credits Case Officer Nioami Wallis with putting him at ease, as he was nervous when he first started! He was especially reassured by the comprehensive training he received from Nioami, ranging from admin to interpersonal skills with participants.

Jordan’s main focus as a volunteer is providing mentoring support for participants in the Aberdare area. This mentoring involves helping participants reach their personal goals, whether that be signing up for a class or practicing conversational English, Jordan is happy to help. Jordan describes his mentoring experience as one of the most ‘rewarding’ of his life, and enjoys the sense of satisfaction he gets from knowing he has helped someone. Jordan got involved with Sova ACE because he wanted to make a difference – through his volunteering work, he has, and he has also challenged himself at the same time.
