The
aim of the scheme is to provide a befriending service to children
and young people aged between 6-17.
The befriending relationship is always structured, purposeful
and time limited. SOVA
staff request that the referrer identify a specific aim/goal for the
volunteer and the young person to work towards.
The
project supports the following key objectives of the Kingston Upon
Hull Social Services Department:-
a)
Safely supporting and maintaining children and young people
at home wherever possible.
b)
Restoring children home to their families wherever possible.
c)
Reducing
the risk that children and young people will offend or re-offend.
