The
SOVA, Prison Service and ESF Partnership was formed to contribute to the
Government's strategy on the resettlement of offenders.
The project aims to improve the skills, confidence and motivation of
offenders in order that they can access appropriate employment, training
and education opportunities on release.

: Pentonville START |
This is a new Home Office pilot and a partnership between SOVA, the
London Probation Area and HMP Pentonville. Prisoners serving less than
12 months will be offered a programme of Enhanced Thinking Skills to be
followed by a newly compiled programme of resettlement training, help
and support. The later will include an element of mentoring. SOVA will
be working with the probation service to deliver the resettlement
programme and to recruit, train and match a dedicated team of volunteer
mentors.
