From 1st April 2008 SOVA and Sheffield Futures launched the vinvolved team, as part of the national youth volunteering programme. We are a team of 6 workers, bringing together existing skills and expertise from the previous Millennium Volunteer and v funded projects in Sheffield.
The vinvolved Team is funded through v, the national youth volunteering charity from January 2008 to March 2011. v is an independent charity that has been set up to inspire a new generation of young volunteers. v are aiming to involve at least 1 million more 16 � 25 year olds in volunteering and community action.
The vinvolved team has been created to achieve the followings aims and objectives:
� Create 6,925 youth volunteering opportunities including full time, part time and short term opportunities
� Broker 3,065 new young people into volunteering opportunities
� Broker 1,226 existing volunteers into new opportunities
� Champion youth led action through a Youth Action Team
� Work with 100 new agencies per year as well as existing organisations to provide training and capacity building,to increase quality of volunteering opportunities and enable them to engage and work with young people effectively
� Ensure that young people from diverse backgrounds have the opportunity and are actively encouraged to volunteer.
The vinvolved team will support any 16-25 year old in Sheffield who wishes to find a volunteering opportunity in Sheffield, and any organisation who wishes to have young people placed with them as volunteers.

Sheffield�s youth volunteering project vinvolved brought together more than 120 people to mark its achievements over the last three years with The Big V Celebration held recently at Ponds Forge in Sheffield. Hosted by the Youth Action Team, a group of young people aged between 16 and 25 who act as ambassadors for youth volunteering in Sheffield, the event celebrated the successes of the young people who have given up their time to volunteer at over 4000 volunteering placements across 300 organ
