Service beneficiciaries are young people who are
leaving care or who are Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) and have no
positive, significant adult in their life.
Primary aim is to deliver a mentoring service to
young people who are leaving care or who are UASC. The main focus being on 16-18
year olds referred from the Local Authority, whilst not fully excluding pre-16
and post 18.
The service
will:
- Increase and improve
sustainable support networks
- Improve life chances for
care leavers and UASC as they make the transition into
adulthood
- Improve the emotional
well being and resilience of care leavers and UASC
- Enable care leavers and
UASC to be healthy and stay safe
- Improve the ability of
care leavers and UASC to live independently
- Enable UASC to integrate
into mainstream society
- Engage local communities
in working with vulnerable young people, promoting community
cohesion.
