SOVA Eastern Circles of Support and Accountability

This project will recruit, screen and train coummunity volunteers to monitor, by means of support, a high risk sex offender released into the community from prison.

	Circles of Support and Accountability provide a social context in which Sex Offenders can develop satisfactory new social relationships with adults who can help them to maintain a lifestyle free of further offending...
Circles of Support and Accountability provide a social context in which Sex Offenders can develop satisfactory new social relationships with adults who can help them to maintain a lifestyle free of further offending. Volunteers form 'Circles of Support and Accountability' with Sex Offenders. The Circle provides intensive support for the Offender, supplementing any supervision requirements of the Probation Service. The 'Circles' can provide guidance, hospitality and caring accountability to men who can be frightened and bewildered by public anger on re-entering the community. This project covers the following Probation Areas: Bedfordshire Cambridge Essex Hertfordshire Norfolk Suffolk. The project provides a service in line with the Circles UK Code of Practice 2008.
