Our Intervention Workers support young people from South Birmingham to work through some of their barriers with the end goal of helping them find sustainable work or education that they enjoy.

Sova provide holistic and tailored support to, NEET (Not in Education Training or Employment) young people (15-29 year olds) with the aim of progressing them into training, education and ultimately sustainable employment.

We support with a range of interventions to help someone on their journey into employment. We build on a person’s confidence, motivation and resilience. We also help people address some of the areas in their lives that may have been stumbling blocks previously such as dealing with housing issues, debt, literacy skills.

The Sova workers are with the participants every step of the way from creating a personal action plan to helping them get over interview nerves to going with someone on their first day of work or college.

Sova form part of the Prospects supply chain. Prospects are the prime provider of delivering Youth Promise Plus programme for the South Locality of Birmingham. The programme is part of a much wider project, Birmingham and Solihull Youth Promise Plus (YPP) which is a flagship project funded under the European Commission ESIF programme (European Social Fund) and Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) arrangements.

The project is overseen and endorsed by the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP).
