project aims: |
YOT Mentoring Scheme including the
basic literacy numeracy scheme. As part of out partnership with
the YOT our main aim will be to support the work of the YOT in
reducing the risk of further offending by matching young offenders
with trained volunteer mentors.
- To recruit, select and train local people as mentors to work
with young people at risk of further offending.
- To accept referrals from the Youth offending Team for matching
young people with trained mentors.
- To offer mentoring support to young people being supervised
by the Youth Offending Team
- To offer support in basic literacy/numeracy to the young people
referred to us.
The Appropriate Adult Scheme:
- To offer vulnerable detainees in Sheffield Police stations
support under the terms of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
- To recruit, train and deploy volunteer Appropriate Adults on
a 24/7 callout rota |
