Sheffield Youth Inclusion Project (YIP) is to complement Youth
Offending Services in Sheffield by developing community based
activities which involve young people as part of the solution
to reducing youth crime.
- The YIP will be focused on the most at-risk young people
aged 13 - 16 and will also include work with a wider group of
young people, and will seek to ensure that at risk young people
are included in mainstream activities, by offering support to
help them overcome a variety of social problems.
- Sheffield Positive Futures is to use sport to reduce anti-social
behaviour, crime and drug misuse among 10-16 year olds in areas
of the North of Sheffield.
- The intended outcomes are:
- A reduction in youth offending in the locality of the project;
- A reduction in drug misuse among 10-16 year olds participating
on the project;
- An increase in regular participation in sport and physical
activity by 10-16 year olds.
