project aims:

The Hull Leaving Care Mentoring Scheme aims to provide young people leaving care between the ages of 16-21 or who have left care, with a trained volunteer mentor who can offer them support, guidance and encouragement. In particular the project aims to:

- Improve the self-esteem of care leavers and their prospects in the future and in particular increase the numbers gaining qualifications and employment.
- Reduce the numbers of care leavers who become homeless.
- Give a range of support to disadvantaged young people leaving care.
- Increase the opportunities available to young people leaving care.
