Sova Metro

At Sova Metro we find, train and support volunteer mentors to help offenders from across the West Midlands to steer clear of crime.

Getting used to life after prison is tough for most people but we support offenders who may find it particularly difficult to get used to living and working back in the community. So our mentors are trained to work with offenders with learning difficulties or disabilities, those with health problems and those who have a long history of offending. Our mentors do whatever they can to help and motivate people to make the right choices and to change their lives for the better. This could be by offering practical advice on finding a place to live, managing money or dealing with health problem, encouraging people to get new skills and qualifications so they can find and keep work or simply by being there as a friendly, reassuring person to talk to at a daunting time.

All our volunteers receive full training and support. Sova Metro is funded by the National Offender Management Service and the European Social Fund.
