Sova Birmingham Youth Offending Team Mentoring Project

At the Sova Birmingham Mentoring Project we support young people from Birmingham who are on a court order or who have served a custodial sentence, to get back into work, education or training.

Our team of mentors offer the practical advice and emotional support the young people need to get ready for the world of work. So, we can advise on interview skills, job searches and putting together CVs, we set up work or volunteer placements and we encourage young people to learn new skills and get qualifications. We’re also on hand to work one to one with each young person to build their confidence and self-esteem. For young people without positive role models in their lives the support of a mentor can be life-changing, encouraging them to make better choices which help them to steer clear of crime.

The Sova Birmingham Mentoring Project is funded by Birmingham Youth Offending Team (YOT).
