Sova North East Mentoring Project - Middlesborough
At Sova North East Mentoring Project we find, train and support volunteer mentors in Tees Valley, Durham, Sunderland and Newcastle, to help offenders to get back into work, giving them a better chance of steering clear of crime.
Many people leave prison with no qualifications or work experience, making the challenge of finding work with a criminal record even harder. Working alongside Pertemps staff, our mentors are there to motivate, encourage and support offenders living in the community to get the skills, qualifications and confidence they will need to find and keep a job. This could be by offering advice on interview skills and putting together a CV, helping to find the right training or college course, taking people to appointments and interviews or simply being there for reassurance and as a trusted person to talk to.
Sova North East Mentoring Project is funded by a Co-financing Organisation of the European Social Fund and National Offender Management Service via Pertemps.
