Volunteer Mentors - Derby
You will be working with families affected by such issues as unemployment, poor housing, illness and disability, mental health problems and poverty. You will be working closely with
partners such has schools, police, housing, health, social care and other services to trial new ways of working with vulnerable families to:
- keep children in school
- help adults on their journey into work
- reduce crime and antisocial behaviour
- improve health and wellbeing
Being a mentor for the Sova Priority Families project could mean that you are mentoring a young person, parent and / or the whole family. You will be working to an agreed action plan devised by all parties and will be required to report after each meeting with regards tothe action plan.
By mentoring a young person / family you will be part of a multi agency approach to help families achieve real change in their lives. No two families are the same and all service will work with each family in a way that is appropriate to their individual circumstances.
Time commitment: 1-4 hours per week
